The Cat
A cozy and watchful shadow. The familiar you might recognize from a thousand quiet evenings.
Your familiar
In folklore, a familiar is a small companion bound to its person — present, patient, and on your side. Your familiar is built in that spirit. Not a mascot. Not a pet to feed. A presence that knows what kind of day you’re having and is here for it.
Four kinds
A cozy and watchful shadow. The familiar you might recognize from a thousand quiet evenings.
A bright spark. The familiar from a thousand folk tales.
A soft companion. The familiar from the corner of a sunlit garden.
A friend in scaled armor. The familiar from a story you almost remember.
All four share the same voice and the same features. They show the same mood and energy in their own ways — from the curl of a tail to a wisp of dragon smoke — but the personality you imagine is yours to bring.
Reactions
Your familiar has two systems that respond to you in real time.
Its mood and energy change continuously as you move the dials — ear position, tail, eyes, posture, color. The shifts are subtle and quick. Nothing dramatic. The point is to make how you’re feeling visible at a glance, without making it a thing.
It also rests when you rest. When your day winds down, your familiar winds down too. When you wake up, it’s already with you — it was here all night, just asleep.
Voice
Suggestions, nudges, and gentle observations come through your familiar, in the first person — a companion speaking to you, not an anonymous notification telling you what to do.
Good morning. How are you feeling today?
I've found a good spot for Call Dad at 6pm tonight.
Your energy tends to be higher after Active sessions — I thought you’d like to know.
This is intentional. A soft suggestion lands differently when it comes from someone who knows you.
Limits
It won't tell you you broke your streak.
Your streak pauses. It doesn’t reset.
It won't get sad or sick if you take a day off.
No pet-care mechanics. No guilt loops.
It won't try to make you do things you've turned off.
It won't celebrate things you didn't ask to be celebrated.
It won't be perky if you're not.
Your familiar is your companion, not your manager.
