A companion, not a checklist.
Choose a cat, fox, bunny, or dragon. Your familiar lives on every screen, reflects how you’re feeling, and delivers everything in its own warm voice — never a notification badge demanding action.
Now in private beta
Familiar is a planning, habit, and wellbeing app that adapts to how you’re feeling. You tell it where you are. It works with that.
They expect you to wake up the same person every day — to start on time, finish on time, and feel bad when you don’t. They reset your streaks. They count what you missed. They turn the things you wanted to do into another reason to feel behind.
Familiar is built on the opposite assumption: that you are different from one day to the next, and your tools should adjust with you. Some days you’ll get a lot done. Other days, getting one gentle thing done is enough. Familiar treats both as worth showing up for.
How it works
Every time you open Familiar, two dials wait for you: energy and mood. Drag them to wherever you are right now. Your familiar responds straight away — sleepy when you’re depleted, bright-eyed when you’re up, soft and quiet when things feel heavy.
From there, everything else adapts. Suggestions match your capacity. Your schedule shifts if it needs to. Habits flex around your day instead of demanding the same of it.
No streaks broken. No ‘let’s get back on track’ guilt. Just a companion that already knows what kind of day it is.
What’s inside
Choose a cat, fox, bunny, or dragon. Your familiar lives on every screen, reflects how you’re feeling, and delivers everything in its own warm voice — never a notification badge demanding action.
A persistent timer runs in the corner of every screen, in your browser tab, on your lock screen, and on your home screen widget. Prefer focus rounds? A gentle Pomodoro is built in. Time becomes harder to lose track of. Time-keeping stops being a separate task.
Familiar tracks the parts of yourself you want to show up to — Active, Connected, Creative, Kind, Mindful, Practical, Relaxed. The everyday basics — water, food, sleep, movement — have a home too. Miss a day and your streak pauses. It never resets to zero. You never lose ground for being human.
Smart scheduling that responds to how you’re feeling today — not just what’s on your calendar. If you wake up wrung out, Familiar quietly defers what can wait. Your day comes to you, not the other way around.
In motion
Move the dials and watch your familiar shift — ears, tail, eyes, posture, color. Not a mood ring; a mirror you can keep an eye on without thinking about it. It’s the simplest way we could think of to make how you’re feeling impossible to ignore — and impossible to be punished for.

Most productivity apps assume you’ll wake up the same person every day. Familiar doesn’t. It was built around the reality that energy shifts, focus comes and goes, and some days are simply harder than others.
That’s why it works particularly well for ADHD adults — time blindness, executive function, and the shame-avoidance that years of failed tools tend to leave behind are all things Familiar takes seriously. It’s also why it works for plenty of others: people living with chronic illness or fatigue, people recovering from burnout, new parents, anyone going through a hard season, and anyone whose brain doesn’t fit the productivity-app mold.
Familiar is in private beta now and opening up gradually. Drop your email and we’ll let you know when it’s your turn. No spam. No more than one email a month while we’re in beta.
